About Brouhaha

Theatre Brouhaha is a collective of young Canadian artists who combine the primacy of story with the rapid pace of the Information Age to create relevant theatre for the next generation of theatre audiences. We want to entertain, to challenge, to energize, to arouse, to confuse, and in general, to give audiences something to talk about afterward. In short, our shows are what all the brouhaha’s about.

We are committed to developing new Canadian work through our dramaturgical and workshop processes. We maintain an active writer’s circle and actor’s lab to develop our ideas and maintain a constant creative output.

Brouhaha Labs

Theatre Brouhaha is committed to the creation and development of new Canadian work that reflects the experiences and interests of the HBO Generation.  Brouhaha Labs is the development wing of our company, aimed at doing just that: providing new scripts with in-depth dramaturgical work, readings, and workshops, to ensure that the script reaches its full potential before going to stage.  We are very proud that the first script to undergo this development process (ROCK) is already being staged by our own artistic director Kat Sandler with her new collective The Paper Scissors Collective.  We are excited to continue to help writers hone their work, in addition to staging our own projects, and look forward to Brouhaha Labs becoming an important part of many writers’ processes in the years to come.
